Playgrounds in the Capital Region

Here is a starter list of the playgrounds in the Capital Region!  This list was complied from my readers and my personal use of playgrounds in the area.  Thank you moms for providing feedback and insight!

Albany:


Washington Park:
Located inside Washington Park (near State St) there is more than enough room to run around. The playground is a little small but good for all ages.

Rosemont Park:
This small neighborhood playground is good for toddlers and up. With multiple tunnels, rock walls, and slides spread out across the playground, it gives kids the opportunity to pick where they want to play.

Colonie:

The Crossing Park:
This large playground is great for all ages. It has two playgrounds, one geared toward toddlers and the other for older kids. The environment is very friendly and you can always find someone to play with.

Cook Park:
Run by the town of Colonie this small, enclosed playground is great for toddlers. There is a staff every day from 8:30 a.m. – 11:45 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. – 3:45 p.m. The staff is there to entertain the little ones as well as offer arts & crafts for a small fee (nothing over $.50).

Imagination Station:
Located at Shaker Road Elementary, this playground is not well suited for toddlers. It includes a newer playground as well as an older wooden playground giving the kids plenty of options and room to run around. The playground is not available during school hours.

Schenectady:

Central Park:
This massive playground has more than enough to keep the kids occupied. With a big fenced in area for toddlers called “Tiny Tot Land”, and a separate area for older children you can’t go wrong with this playground.

Zoller Elementary:
Not accessible during school hours, this playground is designed for older children. However it is equipped with several toddler swings.

Niskayuna:

River Road Park:
This playground is great for toddlers, having just the right size equipment.

Hillside Elementary:
This playground is designed for older children but great for toddlers to run around and climb on. Located behind the Elementary school, the playground is not available during school hours.

Craig Elementary:
Equipped with a small toddler playground and a larger playground for older kids, this playground accommodates everyone. Located on Craig Elementary school property the playground is not available during school hours.

Rosendale Elementary:
This large playground has plenty of running around room for children over 5.

Bethlehem:

Elm Ave Park:
This large old wooden playground has more than enough to keep everyone occupied. Geared more toward ages over 5, toddlers will still love this old school wooden castle.

North Bethlehem Park:
Located in the Town of Bethlehem this small playground is great for toddlers and far away from the road.

Voorheesville:

Voorheesville Elementary:
This large wooden playground will occupy any child. Built more for older kids, toddlers will still love running around this playground.

Clifton Park:

The Clifton Commons:
The “Kids Corner Playground” is tucked far away from the road in The Clifton Commons near the baseball fields. The wooden playground is great for all ages.

Scotia:

Collins Park:
Known as “Kiwanis Kiddies Park” there are two separate playgrounds, one for toddlers and the other for older kids.

    These are awesome – I live over in NGreenbush and haven’t ventured out much to go to parks in the area there is one near by but is older and not much there so we tend to go over to the crossings a lot but would love to know of more in the Troy/Greenbush/Rensselaer area :)
