Are you prepared to take your kiddo trick-or-treating tomorrow night? Here are some helpful hints to having a safe Halloween.
- Plan out your route: map out an easy route that has plenty of homes and kids
- Trick-or-Treat in familiar neighborhoods: go somewhere familiar so you know where you are at all times
- Trick-or-Treat in numbers and accompanied by an adult: big groups are always better than being alone and make sure an adult is present at all times
- Visit well lit houses: avoid dark houses and only visit the ones that seem welcoming
- Wear comfortable shoes: this is a must for walking around all night
- Carry a flashlight: make sure you can be seen by cars driving in the street
- Never go inside an unfamiliar house: your kiddo should accept their candy in the doorway
- Say thank you for the treats: be polite 101
- Check your kiddo’s candy: once your kiddo is done trick-or-treating make sure to check their candy before they dig in (throw out any loosely wrapped candy)
- Have fun and enjoy the quality time with your kiddo
